The podcast emphasises the rewarding nature of these careers, not only in terms of job satisfaction but also in the sense of making a difference in the community. Through real-life examples and discussions, the episode sheds light on the personal and professional growth that comes from working in adult social care.

Episode 1 - Tick Talk

Recorded in May 2024 for Lyme Disease Awareness Month. Highland has long been known as a tick - and now also Lyme disease - hotspot, so we thought it was an ideal time and place to have a conversation with Dr Sally Mavin. Since 2020, she’s been the Director of the Scottish Lyme Disease and Tick-borne Infections Reference Laboratory in Inverness. She’s worked on Lyme disease as a clinical scientist for more than 20 years, and is passionate about improving the diagnosis of Lyme disease in patients in Scotland.
