Community hospital beds which are managed by the GPs working from Southside Road Medical Practice.

Services

The beds are utilised for those patients who require more intensive medical input than can be provided in their own home, but who do not require to be admitted to the District General Hospital (DGH) - Raigmore Hospital.

In addition care is provided for patients who have been treated in the DGH, are ready for discharge, but who still require some form of medical support before returning to their own home.

Services include intense rehabilitation for patients provided by a team of healthcare professionals including:

  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Social Work Care Assessors/Managers

In addition to rehabilitation, the Hospital provides palliative care for those patients with a terminal illness who are no longer able to be treated at home.
