Friends of Succoth Ward
On this page
The Friends of Succoth Ward was set up to support and enhance the wellbeing of the patients and staff on Succoth Ward by raising funds and providing amenities for patients and staff not covered by NHS budgets and funding.
Succoth Ward is an acute inpatient psychiatric ward at Mid Argyll Community and Integrated Care Hospital in Lochgilphead, serving the local community across Argyll and Bute.
Approximately 450,000 people live in the Highlands and Islands region and it is estimated that 25% of the population will experience a mental health problem each year (Public Health Scotland).
The Friends are making plans to support staff to deliver a programme of activities which will include fitness, wellbeing, creative and pampering sessions, and finding ways to improve the physical ward environment.
How you can help
The Friends of Succoth Ward are calling on our community to get involved - these are the ways you can help:
- Please donate what you can, every penny really helps!
- Are you a business or individual who could gift items on our wish list?
- Could you deliver a fundraising event or activity to raise funds and awareness?
- Can you offer your time, expertise or gift an activity on or off the ward for patients?
A wishlist has been drawn up with patients and staff which includes, books, journals, puzzles, games, artwork, toiletries and outdoor plants.
In January 2024 we successfully raised £751 with 23 supporters in 56 days via Crowdfunder.
You can keep up to date with our progress by joining our Facebook page. Please like and share with your friends.
"Making a small difference in challenging times is what the Friends are all about. We believe patients are worth it!"
(Raymond Deans, Chair of the Friends of Succoth Ward)
