About your invitation and appointment

  • If you are a woman between 50 and 70 years old and live in Scotland you will automatically be sent an invitation for breast screening in the post every 3 years.
  • If you are over 70 you will not automatically be sent an appointment but you can call to make your own appointment every three years.

Where you go for screening depends on where your GP practice is. Your invitation letter will tell you where to go.

If you plan to take up your screening appointment, let the screening centre know if you:

  • need an interpreter
  • have a disability
  • need any additional help
