Acute facilities - theatres, accident and emergency, outpatients and wards - are all equipped to the latest standards.

General medicine and general surgery services are staffed by 8 resident consultants, with additional junior doctor support, including anaesthetists.

Surgical sub-specialties, for example ophthalmology, orthopaedics and gynaecology, are staffed by visiting consultants from Glasgow and Paisley. 

The hospital caters for palliative care and elderly patients as well as providing a midwifery service and a multi-purpose day hospital.
