CEO Moss Park 02.04.25 Fiona Davies, NHS Highland's Chief Executive, meets with staff outside Moss Park care home.

NHS Highland and The Highland Council have completed the service transfer of Moss Park care home from HC-One.

On 7 November 2024, NHS Highland and The Highland Council confirmed their intention to work to secure a purchase of the care home by the Highland Council and a transfer of service provision to NHS Highland.

All necessary contracts to enable service continuity in the care home have been completed, and NHS Highland is now operationally responsible for the service.

Pamela Stott, Chief Officer for the Highland Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “I am pleased to confirm that the service transfer of Moss Park care home has been completed.

“We recognise this has been a stressful time for residents, relatives and staff and we are pleased to enable service continuity within the home. We have written to all residents and their families, as well as the staff working in the care home, to provide confirmation of the transfer process.

“This process underlines the Highland Health and Social Care Partnership’s commitment to investing in remote and rural health and social care services. We look forward to working closely with the local communities in Lochaber to further strengthen social care in the area.”

Cllr David Fraser, Chair of Highland Council’s Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Committee said: “I welcome this announcement today of the Moss Park care home service transfer completion to NHS Highland which will bring assurance to residents, families and staff.

“I would like to thank everyone involved who has worked extremely hard to secure Highland Council’s purchase of the care home and transfer of service provision to NHS Highland. I welcome Scottish Government’s support for this complex process and can confirm that both the Council and NHS Highland will continue to work towards more sustainable models of care provision in Lochaber in the future.”
