Argyll And Bute Telecare Service Argyll and Bute Telecare Service - Technology Enabled Care (TEC)

Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Services is an innovative approach that provides technology and services to provide care and support to individuals who require it.

These services can range from Telecare, to simple devices that monitor vital signs, to systems that allow remote consultations with healthcare professionals.

The Telecare service is an innovative solution that enables individuals to live independently in their homes while helping to support their safety and wellbeing. In Argyll and Bute, Telecare services are available to people of all ages who may be vulnerable, have a disability or a long-term health condition.

The service provides a range of equipment that is tailored to meet the individual's needs, including personal alarms, fall detectors and a wide range of sensors including Property Exit Sensors and GPS devices. These devices are connected to a monitoring centre which is staffed 24/7 by trained professionals who respond to alerts raised by the devices. In an emergency, the monitoring centre can contact the appropriate emergency services, a designated family member (keyholder) or the responder service for those who live on the mainland.

The Telecare service is designed to offer peace of mind to individuals and their loved ones, knowing that they have access to immediate help when needed. It also enables people to stay living independently in their homes for longer and can help reduce the need for hospitalisation or admission to care homes.

The Argyll and Bute Council website is a great resource for those who want to learn more about these services and how they can benefit from them. On their website, you can find information about the different types of TEC services, how to access them and their benefits.

The Telecare service is in the process of moving clients to digitally-capable devices in anticipation of the digital switchover. The team will contact you directly over the next 18 months to replace your analogue unit with a digital one. At present, this is over the mobile signal but connection over broadband is anticipated to be possible over the next few months. As a result, we are focusing on clients who live in areas of good mobile signal first, to ensure a smooth transition, and will ensure that all clients will be switched over to the right device for them at the appropriate time.
