An upgrade to the car park at Raigmore Hospital is due to start on 31 July, lasting for a period of 18 weeks.
The work, which will include a complete resurfacing, new lighting and CCTV upgrade, will be done in eight phases. While every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum, each phase will result in the number of spaces in the car park being reduced.
Spaces will be reduced as each phase is carried out. Our car park attendants will still be in place directing people where to park but we will be working with a much reduced number of spaces for a number of weeks.
To manage this as best as we can there are a number of actions taking place. This includes making as many of our patient appointments, where appropriate, available on Near Me to reduce the need to come into the hospital site, and encouraging staff who are able to work at home to do that.
We are also asking staff and visitors, who are able to leave the car at home, to use public transport or other available active travel options. This will help leave space for those who have no other choice than to take their car. There is a regular bus service from the city centre and car parking is available in Rose Street car park - see more Raigmore travel information.
We are sorry for the temporary disruption and inconvenience this will cause but the work will bring much-needed improvements to our car park.
