Free patient Wi-Fi is now available at several hospitals in Highland.
The free Wi-Fi has been rolled out at the National Treatment Centre - Highland, Caithness General Hospital, Wick Town and County Hospital, Dunbar Hospital (Thurso) and large parts of Raigmore Hospital.
The Wi-Fi service, powered by WiFi SPARK, comes with content filtering and quality broadband. Once connected, patients will have direct access general internet services, email, and entertainment platforms including Inverness Hospital Radio, a voluntary broadcasting service for hospital patients across Highland.
Patients can connect to the free Wi-Fi with their own personal devices, whether this is a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. When staying in hospital, patients should remember to bring along a device that has access to the internet, as well as a charger and headphones. Posters will be displayed around hospital detailing how to connect to the Wi-Fi on devices.
A WiFi SPARK service support desk is also available 24 hours a day for those who need additional help. Details for this can be found on posters available around the hospitals.
There are hopes to extend the availability of patient Wi-Fi to more hospital locations across NHS Highland in the future.
