The Coll Collaborative Working Group (CCWG) and Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) launched the Coll Health and Social Care Needs Assessment at a community event on Coll on Thursday 16 March.
Fiona Davies, Chief Officer of Argyll and Bute HSCP, who was on Coll to help launch the report, said:
“I am delighted to be on Coll today to share the results of the Health and Social Care Needs Assessment with the community and I would like to thank the Coll Collaborative Working Group and the people of Coll for their help in bringing this important piece of work together.
“As an HSCP we recognise that there are specific challenges in delivering health and social care services to remote and island communities such as Coll but at the same time we also know how vital it is that the local community can access services when they need them.
“This report has therefore played a really important role in contributing to our understanding of the specific health and social care needs of the people of Coll and it has identified areas where our services are working well and also highlighted other services where more work needs to be done.
“The information contained within the report will also greatly assist the HSCP in the development and planning of health and social care services for the people of Coll.
“I also look forward to continuing to work with the residents, the community council and our partner organisations as we develop these services over the coming months and years.”
Notes for editors: The Coll Collaborative Working Group was established in 2022 to work alongside partners and community representatives from Coll with the aim to assess the level of health and social care need on Coll and to agree on a redefined model of service delivery to meet the needs of the community.
