Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) Autumn/Winter vaccination teams are working incredibly hard to deliver the COVID-19 and flu vaccines to the most vulnerable and eligible people across communities.
Our vaccinators have administered from 5th September to 2nd October 2022 a total of 24,295 COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
Our vaccination teams' immense effort has led to the rapid roll-out of the programme across our communities. Their progress to date includes completion of Care Home resident vaccinations and the team is continuing at pace following the national guidance inviting people over 50 year olds and older people at risk to come forward when invited.
We would like to take this opportunity to praise everyone working to support the vaccination programme, from volunteers to vaccinators, and all staff working hard behind the scenes as well as the wider public for their continued support taking up the offer of both lifesaving vaccines.
Fiona Davies, Argyll and Bute Chief Officer said: "The vaccination programme across Argyll and Bute is off to a strong start. We have made immense progress in a very short space of time. I would like to thank the entire vaccination programme team, support staff and volunteers for doing an incredible job to deliver the vaccination programme successfully.
"With such a big programme there will be some difficulties along the way, but we can all work together to keep Argyll and Bute vaccination rates high to protect ourselves, our families, friends and communities."
The public have an important part to play to help us deliver the vaccination programme, so we are asking:
- If you cannot make your appointment reschedule or cancel it in plenty of time this will help to reduce waiting times.
- Don’t contact us to seek a vaccine, we will contact you when you are eligible.
- If you are attending a walk-in, please be prepared to wait - thank you for your patience.
- Please be polite and courteous to our staff and volunteers.
The HSCP would like to apologise in advance for unexpected longer clinic waiting times and for the occasions when this has happened. We understand that people in the priority groups are keen to receive their vaccine and we will contact you when you are eligible to come forward – we will get to you as quickly as possible.
If you have questions about alternative clinics or rearranging appointments, please contact our local Service Delivery Centre helpline.
