Staff at the Accident and Emergency department at the Belford Hospital in Fort William have once again met and exceeded the Scottish Government’s waiting time targets over the festive period.
According to latest figures staff at the Belford consistently bettered the Scottish Government’s target of 95 percent between Christmas and New Year.
The Information Services Division of NHS National Services Scotland figures for the week ending 30th December 2018 showed 96 per cent of patients were seen, treated, discharged or admitted within four hours; 95.2 per cent for the week ending 6th January 2019; and 97.5 per cent for the week ending 13th January.
These figures were significantly better than the corresponding averages for hospitals across the whole of Scotland at 89.3 per cent, 86.4 percent and 85.8 per cent during the same period.
Anne Boyd-Mackay, the Belford’s rural general manager, said: “This is fantastic news and I’d like to say a massive thank you to all the teams for their dedication and hard work which has produced such excellent results.”
