If you are looking for help and support to stop smoking, the Highland Smoke-free Service can be with you every step of the way.
Anyone who has quit smoking or tried to quit knows how hard it can be. The Highland Smoke-free Service is here to help. We have a network of trained smoke-free advisers who can provide free advice and support to anyone who is thinking about stopping smoking.
What help is available?
You may just want to talk to someone by phone and arrange for some information to be sent to you.
You may want to speak face-to-face with a smoke-free adviser. They will have an initial meeting with you to discuss what options are available to help you quit and to help you prepare and plan for stopping smoking. Our service is based on what has been shown to work - people are four times more likely to quit smoking if they use smoke-free services alongside Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT).
If you decide to go ahead, we will help you arrange to get the medication most suited to you. We'll see you again at least 3 or 4 times to help iron out any problems and give you support and encouragement over the first few weeks of quitting.
If you decide at any point that this isn’t the right time for you to quit, don’t worry! We will be happy to see you again in the future when you do want to go ahead.

NHS Inform - Stopping smokingVaping information for parents and carers
The NHS Highland Health Improvement team have created an e-booklet resource: Vaping Information for Parents and Carers.
The booklet is supported by Planet Youth in Highland data and will help parents and carers to understand what vapes are and why they can be dangerous.
It goes on to explain why young people may be curious to try them, and how parents and carers can support their children to avoid using vapes.
