November 2024: Questions and answers about Moss Park Care Home in Fort William
The Highland Health and Social Care Partnership (The Highland Council and NHS Highland) understand the pressing need for adult social care in the Lochaber area, and the impact the closure of Moss Park would have. We have been working to find a way to keep the home open until alternative local provision can be developed.
We have developed these answers to help residents, their relatives and staff at Moss Park Care Home understand the plans for the home and the impact that these plans may have. We want to reassure all concerned that there is progress being made, and to keep you updated.
We encourage you to send questions, so that we can continue to update this page with useful information:

What has changed?
Agreement in principle has been reached for The Highland Council to purchase the care home from HC-One, to be operated by NHS Highland, in the medium term. There are many issues still to be addressed, but this is the direction of travel that the parties have agreed to progress.
